Much like the Energy Monitoring Device, this solution relies on a WiFi connection to alert users when user set maximum or minimum thresholds are exceeded. Apart from temperature, this setup also monitors humidity and uploads its readings to a central server which then sends out alerts to the user’s phone via SMS. The server also alerts the user when it stops receiving readings, such as in the case of a power failure at the sensor’s site.

The sensor can also be setup to take more direct action by turning on devices such as fans or audible alarms on site. It is possible to control up to 32 devices through relays rated at up to 30 Amps.

In the absence of a permanent WiFi connection, the device can connect to the internet through a device like this which is ideal for remote locations or for vehicles.
